What are TAGs?

MP3 files consist of two parts: music in the shape of digital and compressed audio files and an attached label called ID3TAG. This TAG contains further information, for instance title, artist, album, release date, genre and comment line. Furthermore a TAG shares system data about the audio CD, such as MPEG layer version, track number of the original audio CD and so forth.
